The Band Musical Director is

Mark Vause BA Hons, PGCE, LRSM 

 

Mark has been involved in banding for over 40 years. He started playing the cornet aged 7 with the Morecambe Brass Band. On leaving school he studied music at Salford University and it was during this time that he joined the famous Fodens Brass Band. In 1988 he was a finalist in the British Solo Championship of Great Britain. He went on to complete his teacher training at Cambridge University and became Musical Director of the University Brass Band. He was Conductor of the National Methodist Youth Brass Band for 15 years taking them on many tours, both home and abroad. He has been Musical Director of the City of Lichfield Concert Band since 2008. Mark is Director of Music at Queen Mary's Grammar School in Walsall.
